My First Cue

My first attempt at making a full cue (not including the shaft)

This cue design is one that I’ve had in mind for many years. I finally found the time to make it a reality. My goal here was “classic” with a twist. The forearm is tiger maple acquired from a friend who has had this wood in his garage since the ‘70’s. The points are Gabon Ebony with silver dyed lace wood, red dyed Tabu and ash veneers. A small butterfly of black walnut was added for flair. The ringwork is copper and ebony. The cue came out at 17 oz. unweighted so I added a 2 oz. weight to bring it up to my preferred 19 oz. The butt cap is Gabon ebony and it’s all brought together with a crisscross embossed leather wrap that feels very satisfying for a grip.
